Contractor Sees Direct Benefits of Indirect Lighting
Q: How do you know that a contractor truly believes in a light fixture?
A: The contractor installs the fixture in his own office.
Ken Berg, owner of Specialized Electric, was so impressed with the office lights he installed for his customers; he added the same fixtures to his own company’s office building. The Verona, Wisconsin electrical contractor had installed Ruud's UP Series Indirect Linear Fluorescent fixtures for several of his customers with excellent results. Berg selected the perforated housing with wing end caps and standard 54-watt T5 HO 4100K lamps. (A range of color temperatures from 3500 to 5000K are available.) He specified the two-level option, which met Wisconsin’s lighting code standards and provided room atmosphere flexibility. Specialized Electric's installation featured aircraft cable hung 18 inches below the grid ceiling. The fixtures arrived pre-assembled with lamps installed. This made the installation fast and easy. It saves contractors time and labor.
Specialized Electric is installing U Series fixtures in several large and small office projects throughout 2007. “The fixtures practically sell themselves,” Berg said, “People see the fixtures in my office and want them for their own projects.”
